My client is a large national privately held insurance brokerage. They are hiring a Senior Level Employee Benefits Account Executive/Consultant to lead the benefits strategy for 3 jumbo groups of self-funded accounts that have 3500 to 50,000 lives. You can work from your home office, but you must live in the Orange County, CA area so that you can travel and meet with your key accounts on a regular basis. You will lead a team of account managers and other vendors who will assist you with renewals and account reporting strategy.
The company offers a very competitive salary of $200,000 to $250,000 DOE + bonus and expenses. This is a very senior client facing role and you must have worked in a similar large group role for an insurance brokerage and must know California benefits laws, carriers, group products, and vendor offerings to be considered for this position. Must have a CA Life & Health license.

Employee Benefits Account Manager: Large Group

My client is a national insurance brokerage. Due to a recent acquisition, they need to hire another large group account manager. These are all established groups that are a mix of groups that are over 50 lives and are either fully insured, level-funded, or self-funded. They use EASE/Employee Navigator, Zywave, and Benefit Port. You will be the main point of contact for all renewals and any compliance meetings throughout the year. The role will involve some local travel between Seattle and the South Sound for pre-renewal meetings. You will be based out of their Gig Harbor, WA office.
Key aspects of the role:
• Prepare all materials for open enrollment per instructions provided by producer
• Update Employee Benefit Guide and any communication pieces
• Prepare and test OE in Employee Navigator/EASE
• Monitor open enrollment and communicate with HR to ensure timely completion
• Prepare all materials for carrier submissions
• Send renewal information to COBRA vendor and/or participants
• Prepare summary of all open enrollment changes and provide to HR with any payroll updates
• Complete all legal notices, SPD, and prepare compliance calendar for additional requirements such as 1095, PCORI, 5500 filing
• Ongoing client service and communication throughout the year

They use Wired Quote for direct carrier quoting and have strong relationships with several trust wholesaler underwriters who you will work with for trust/association renewal pricing.

Commercial Lines Account Executive: Large Property Book

My client is a growing privately held National insurance brokerage. This role is for their Lake Oswego, Oregon office. You will be an Account Executive supporting one key Producer on a 1.5M revenue book with 15 accounts. These are very large habitational risks. Your team will consist of 3 Account Managers with CSRs for processing support. This is a hybrid role with 3 days/week in the office to allow for great team culture and mentoring opportunities. You will be the subject matter expert for the accounts and the quarterback for the Producer for all renewals and RFP’s.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintains and enhances relationships with existing clients by executing proactive, creative, and on-going contact initiatives
- Proactively understands the requirements and needs of a client account
- Provide strategic planning and consulting advice to clients including the production of Requests for Proposal, coordination of vendor responses, analysis and comparison of RFP responses, and preparation of a client report with recommendations
- Consults with clients to review investment options, vender services, fees, strategies and goals
- Consults regularly with clients to review large claims, abnormal utilization results, and monthly claims experience
- Reviews and issues profitability assists on all “fee-at-risk” proposals
- Assists in the establishment and attainment of revenue goals for existing and new business
- Provides input in the development and implementation of policies and procedures, as well and operating and strategic plans within area of specialty
- Develops and maintains dependable working relationships with carriers, broker servicing networks, and other providers

My client is a boutique employee benefits insurance brokerage in Fife, WA. They are adding a new Benefits Producer. You will be targeting businesses in WA and OR with 2 to 300 lives. This is a long-term stable career opportunity. The agency is 2nd generation and has no interest in selling out to a national brokerage.
You will work in a combination of inside and outside sales allowing you a great deal of autonomy. Your goal will be to manage your weekly sales pipeline to allow you to average 50 new lives/month. You will track new business opportunities and follow up with previous proposals with Sales Force and will have a tool chest of marketing collateral to work with. You will attend industry meetings, leads groups, association groups, and use other natural market lead generation methods to help you win new business. You will be paid 35% commission for as long as the account remains on the books allowing you to earn increasing income each year. You will be a W2 employee, with a salary validation plan, full benefits, expense account, and all technology needed for use in the field. You will be mentored by the agency principal, and you will be supported by a cracker jack team of tenured account managers who will assist you with back-office processing and daily customer service requests once the account is established.
