If you are licensed in Life & Disability with Group benefits experience and you live in the South Puget Sound, this new Small Group Account Executive role is for you.
My client is a full-service independent agency. Due to an upcoming retirement, they need to find a new Employee Benefits Account Executive to manage the existing book of small group accounts as well as some individual life health and Medicare business.
The role will be salary with commissions on any new business you bring in. You will also have the opportunity to earn another $15,000 in year-end bonus based on book growth and profitability. They offer full benefits, and they are very flexible on work arrangements and scheduling. You will train with the retiring account manager to learn office software and systems and once you take over the accounts, the agency is open to a variety of working arrangements including working 4 10’s or being fully remote with local client travel.
Key job Aspects:
- Assist clients with day-to-day questions that arise regarding their employee benefit program
- Promptly identify and resolve benefit issues, working with the client and the insurance carrier
- Act as the employee liaison to internal service departments within the benefits division, including Underwriting, Compliance, TPAs, FSAs, HSAs, HRAs and COBRA
- Promptly respond to all client inquiries, including any open enrollment, Affordable Care Act (ACA), compliance and legislative questions
- Assist in all areas of the enrollment process, including eligibility, qualifying events, terminations, and plan design clarification
- Maintain ownership of all client deliverables by the service team
- Manages and mentors team effectively, inspires collaboration and team performance
- Participate in the development and on-going execution of division market strategy
- Consistently works to identify and leverage opportunities for effective cross-selling across all business divisions; builds effective intra-organizational relationships
- Participates in selling process, including identifying and defining client needs and presentations
- Negotiates with carriers for benefit and premium considerations; builds strong carrier relationships
- Lead/participate in enrollment meetings and execution, as necessary
- Keep business team informed of all important activities on accounts
- Serve as SME to help troubleshoot and solve complex problems and act as the internal resource for Medicare enrollment and questions.
Candidates need to have a WA L & D license and insurance agency or Carrier experience with employee group benefits.
