My client is a well-established insurance agency located in Issaquah, WA. He has won the Chairman’s Circle Award for several years and is recognized as a leader in the industry. He is looking to add 2 new team members. This is an in-office Mon to Fri permanent staff role. You will be paid $18 to $20 (hourly) and will have vacation and sick time. The office is fun and lively with a great work/life balance. You will also be eligible for monthly bonus that can average $500 to $1000 or more for adding new lines of coverage to current accounts or adding new customers through referrals. The agency prides itself on its “Nordstrom like” customer service and soft-selling approach. This is NOT a cold call job.
How the training program works:
You will be a full time W2 employee of the agency. Your first couple of weeks will be spent taking the online licensing class. The online class is 40 hours for your P & C license and 40 hours for your Life & Disability license. Once you complete the 40 hours of webinar training, you will take the state license test online. Once you have obtained your license, you will begin the in-house training with senior staff members which will teach you how to do policy service, quote rates, work with underwriters, and do other account service tasks. After 90 days, you will be able to work more independently and will be able to manage and solve problems for customers on your own and also work with an assigned list of customers in order to build more interpersonal relationships.
Candidates need to have fast computer skills, a desire to learn and grow in the insurance industry, and be coachable. A college degree is not required for this role. Soft skills desired include: reliability, desire to help the customer, good relationship building skills, sales ability, strong problem solving ability, and a positive attitude with desire to learn new things every day. The client would like to consider candidates who have either sold a product on commission and or have promoted into at least a team leadership role. This is a long-term career opportunity. You must be able to pass a background check (no DUI’s or Felonies) to become licensed. The client wants a long-term commitment to the local area ideally with a less than 45 minute daily commute.
