My client is a large insurance firm located in Anchorage, AK. This in an entry level, full time, Mon to Fri in-office 8 am to 5 pm role. You will be the receptionist for the Benefits Division. Group benefits are the medical, dental, vision and other company provided benefits that employers give to their workers. The reception/admin role is designed to give you the time and training to learn the how group benefits works, learn office systems and procedures, get licensed in Life and Health, and work your way up to being a junior account manager in the future. Salary is $35,000 to start and will increase to $40,000 once you are licensed.
The company offers great benefits, training, and strong mentoring from long-term employees. They will pay for all costs for licensing and other certification programs.

Here’s the key elements of the job:
Serve as the first point of contact for greeting and seeing to the needs of clients, visitors, and people going in and out of the office on a daily basis and through incoming telephone calls.
Receive & direct telephone calls and relay pertinent messages to others while maintaining accuracy, clarity and confidentiality
Assess the various needs and purposes of the clients and direct them to the proper sources in order to address their concerns.
Provide general administrative duties: mailing, faxing, photocopying, printing and making sure client contacts are up to date.
Receive, obtain and store pertinent client information on our in-house client database and ensure validity, completeness, accuracy and confidentiality of these records.
Ensure the proper filing of pertinent documents for online server and client database.
Plan, coordinate and organize meetings and conferences within the department and with clients/partners.
Open office promptly at 8:00 AM and close it at 5:00 PM each working day. Timeliness is a critical function in this position.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Backgrounds desired: local Anchorage area candidates are strongly preferred. Need to be able to pass a background check, have proficient MS office skills, a pleasant phone voice, be a good multi-tasker and team player. Recent college grads are encouraged to apply. Must have at least a high school or GED with at least 1 year of office related FT work experience. No job hoppers please!
