Do you live in the Bellingham, WA area? Do you have your P & C license or do you want to start your insurance career where you are a W2 employee with hourly wage and benefits?

My client will hire either a trainee or an experienced Personal Lines Account Manager. They are a well-regarded independent insurance agency with a great family feel. They are very involved in the community and pride themselves on “the personal touch” with their customers.

If you are a trainee and not licensed in Property & Casualty (home, auto, RV etc):

The agency will hire you once you complete your P & C licensing. They will give you a written offer letter contingent on it and will reimburse you for the cost of the class and license testing as soon as you start. You will then start your in-office training program. They will teach you the ABC’s of personal lines insurance and you will learn the AMS360 computer system. You will also learn the insurance carrier systems, how to rate, how to do downloads and how to complete service requests for customers. As your insurance knowledge improves, you will start working on account renewals and other more advanced service tasks. Starting pay for a trainee is $16/hr DOE.

If you already have your P & C license and have worked in Personal Lines in an agency setting, (direct writer or independent), you will go through an in-house on-boarding to get you familiar with their AMS360 system and carriers that you may not be familiar with. Hourly wage will be dependent on your skills/experience with personal lines coverages and independent markets. Hourly pay for a licensed experienced person will be based on industry experience.

This is a full time permanent role with 100% paid benefits for the employee, vacation and retirement plan. No weekends or cold calling will be required.

Candidates need to have strong computer skills and the ability to learn quickly. Soft skills include: accuracy, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, ability to work independently, ability to problem solve/find own answers, and have excellent organization and follow up skills.

The company wants previous work experience in an office setting using a phone and computer. Must be able to pass a background check. Only candidates that are committed to living in the Bellingham area long-term will be considered.
