My client is a well-established leader in employee benefits. They are located in the Tacoma area and specialize in groups in the 10 to 500 life range. They have terrific client retention and they use state of the art computer programs to allow their customers to have in-house online benefits capability, while never sacrificing the personal touch. Every call is answered by a real live person, not a recording!

In this role, you will assume a small book of group business. You will be expected to maintain the accounts and add new customers monthly. Your goal will be to add a minimum of 50 lives each month to your book. You will be paid a monthly guarantee based on the current revenue of the existing book and you will be expected to add approximately 50 new lives per month to the book for growth while you maintain the inherited groups. You will also be paid 40% on new business.

You will be supported by a cracker jack team of tenured account managers and analysts who will assist you with renewals and new business marketing/placement. You will be expected to be in the office when you are not seeing customers. This is NOT a remote work from home position. You will act as a consultant and will advise on the best strategies for your groups to have the broadest coverage plans that meet their cost parameters. You will also advise your clients on ACA updates and compliance issues throughout the year.

The company offers a generous base salary with competitive splits, a full benefits/retirement package, and a lot of autonomy. You will have many technology tools at your disposal including a laptop computer, Sales Force CRM for keeping track of customer opportunities, and Zywave’s Broker Briefcase tools for putting together proposals.

Insurance Customer Service: Entry Level or Licensed Agent

Do you live in the Bellingham, WA area? Do you have your P & C license or do you want to start your insurance career where you are a W2 employee with hourly wage and benefits?

My client will hire either a trainee or an experienced Personal Lines Account Manager. They are a well-regarded independent insurance agency with a great family feel. They are very involved in the community and pride themselves on “the personal touch” with their customers.

If you are a trainee and not licensed in Property & Casualty (home, auto, RV etc):

The agency will hire you once you complete your P & C licensing. They will give you a written offer letter contingent on it and will reimburse you for the cost of the class and license testing as soon as you start. You will then start your in-office training program. They will teach you the ABC’s of personal lines insurance and you will learn the AMS360 computer system. You will also learn the insurance carrier systems, how to rate, how to do downloads and how to complete service requests for customers. As your insurance knowledge improves, you will start working on account renewals and other more advanced service tasks. Starting pay for a trainee is $16/hr DOE.

If you already have your P & C license and have worked in Personal Lines in an agency setting, (direct writer or independent), you will go through an in-house on-boarding to get you familiar with their AMS360 system and carriers that you may not be familiar with. Hourly wage will be dependent on your skills/experience with personal lines coverages and independent markets. Hourly pay for a licensed experienced person will be based on industry experience.

This is a full time permanent role with 100% paid benefits for the employee, vacation and retirement plan. No weekends or cold calling will be required.

Candidates need to have strong computer skills and the ability to learn quickly. Soft skills include: accuracy, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, ability to work independently, ability to problem solve/find own answers, and have excellent organization and follow up skills.

The company wants previous work experience in an office setting using a phone and computer. Must be able to pass a background check. Only candidates that are committed to living in the Bellingham area long-term will be considered.

Employee Benefits Account Manager

If you have experience working in Employee Benefits in an agency setting and you have knowledge of how to do a renewal from start to finish, my client wants to talk to you.

My client is a growing full service independent insurance brokerage. They are growing their Employee Benefits Department and need to add another account manager to the team. You will be splitting a book with two other seasoned account managers and be part of a team that supports three outside producers. You will handle a group account from marketing to spreading rates to the employee meeting. You will also handle daily service requests and be a claims advocate for your groups. Group sizes will vary greatly from 5 to 500 lives. The team has an assistant to help with small administrative tasks.

The client offers a good base salary, benefits that start 1st of the month after start date, vacation, retirement, and lots of growth/career opportunities.

Candidates need to have their OR L & H license and at least a couple of years working as an EB account manager at the agency level. Any experience with large groups or self-funding plans/design is a huge plus. Need to be very comfortable with technology, spreadsheets, and able to work with customers face to face or online.
